That new platform focuses on allowing our teams composed by Data Engineers and Data Scientists, to explore big amounts of data with ease, to experiment and validate hypotheses on fast iterations, develop and optimize machine learning models, and use those models to build intelligent services.
We are currently looking for an experienced engineer to join our data team in Barcelona, to help us building a modern data and machine learning platform that will be used by other teams in a variety of use cases such as classification, personalised experience, custom search, recommenders, image recognition, fraud detection, and so forth.

Your role will involve :
Working together with other teams to understand their current processes and missing opportunities around data engineering and machine learning development.
Working on solutions to cover those needs, which might involve either exploring the state of the art of existing solutions, developing new ones or something in between.
Working closely with those teams to help them onboarding our platform and services, track their progress, and learn from their feedback.
Working with a wide spectrum of technologies (Kubernetes, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Machine Learning frameworks and tools, Argo CD, build systems and languages), together with interdisciplinary teams composed of software / data / ml engineers, data scientists, analysts and product specialists.
A degree in Computer Science or related branch
Experience using data related technologies such as big data frameworks, streaming applications, databases, job orchestrators,
Some understanding of how Machine Learning works and the tools that are commonly used
Experience working with the Cloud (any of AWS, GCP, Azure) and Linux based systems
A good understanding of the best practices for developing software (version control, CI / CD, automation, peer-programming, documentation, testing, )

Nice to have
You have previous experience working with teams dealing with data engineering, data science and / or machine learning, and have an overall understanding on what makes it unique with respect to the general processes for software development
Experience with Rust, Python or Scala
Experience / desire to learn Rust
You really believe that Functional Programming and the type system can make your code more reliable and feels more comfortable to work with
Some knowledge of UI development so you don’t get lost when talking about HTML, CSS, Typescript, Material design...
You are not afraid of DevOps, and understand that automating your delivery processes, and dealing with infrastructure is as important as writing lines of code, documenting, or communicating your achievements
You can move comfortably between the long term vision and the short term needs to deliver incremental value
