Job Description


Location: Madrid, Valencia (flexible)

As a Management Accountant, you will be part of the GBS and Tax Reporting team for Spain and Portugal, together with seven more colleagues and will provide support in all aspects of day-to-day financial control, corporate, tax and statutory reporting.

Areas of responsibility and accountability:

  • Bookkeeping tasks for several legal entities in Spain, such as accruals, prepayments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, among others.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting deadlines and review journal entries, balances, and other financial statement line items.
  • Perform month-end closing journals to ensure high-quality financial data and review management accounts.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of tax returns, including monthly and quarterly VAT, WHT, Intrastat and other similar returns.
  • Collaborate with Tax Specialists to ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities to ensure accuracy.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to drive efficiency.
  • Assist with year-end audit and other internal and external audits.
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries and coordinate reporting processes with other departments and functions as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting and/or auditing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in multinational companies and/or accounting consulting firms. Experience in the renewable energy industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and SpanishLGAAP.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is a plus).
  • Good knowledge of Excel and MS Office.
  • Knowledge in Tax return, Spanish tax return will be a plus.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • Flexible, proactive and self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Team player, ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
