Safety and Compliance Engineer

Position Overview

  • Participate in the propulsion test bench design and be responsible for leadingtechnical audits to ensure that facility safety and compliance with EU Directives.
  • Responsible for generating and managing product safety and compliancerequirements for in-house developments.
  • Assures compliance with applicable internal and external regulations, policies andprocedures related to safety conformity.
  • Represent Business in relevant internal/external audits and interact with Nationalregulatory agencies.
  • In-house training of personnel on conformity compliance and safe handling ofworking fluids
Tasks

The Safety and Compliance Engineer(s) will support the development of the variouscomponents of Test Facilities and work closely with the R&D design engineers to developsystems which meet the global safety compliance requirements in the markets where theyare placed.

Responsibilities:
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of Gas and Cryo installations safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Developing and executing technical Risk Assessment and Fault Tree Analyses.
  • Inspect equipment and system assemblies and identify and quantity safety hazards.
  • Knowledge of EU Directives and International Norms.
  • Basic safetyinvestigation techniques and knowledge of aviation Culture.
  • Added-value : knowledge of aviation conformity standards.
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, team player with the ability to work collaboratively across all elements of the organization.
Requirements

  • M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. BACHELOR would also work
  • Experience in Safety management and risk assessment.
  • Preferably relevant working experience in product safety / product regulatory compliance.
  • Experience to judge engineering solutions and their impact in product safety.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software.5+ years of industry experience working on similar projects.
  • Fluent in English and ADDED VALUE Spanish as Working Language.
Preferred skills & experience:
  • Formation in safety management or a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of ATEX Standards.
  • Experience in Risk Analysis in Process Engineering (HAZID, HAZOP,...etc)
  • Understanding of Cryogenic Systems.
ADDED Value: Knowledge of pressure vessel and piping conformity to EU Directives.

  • Understanding of Hydrogen Technology.
  • Deep understanding of legal safety guidelines.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and process diagrams.
  • Understand and Implement SW and HW Mitigation Safety loops.
